Contact in the time of Covid

Don’t know about you, but I am really behind on my reading.

Perhaps the inability to gather in person has spurred people to find lots of other ways to connect.  And beyond the many newsletters, this fall you will be able to take part in a number of virtual gatherings designed to explore social and economic innovation.

One of the next up is the 25th edition of the Social Venture Institute.  This year, instead of separate events in British Columbia and Alberta, organizers have joined forces to deliver one virtual event October 13 to 16 2020.  Find details at www.hollyhockleadershipinstitute.org/svi.  And keep an eye open for both the Soul of the Economy (November 16 to 20, 2020) and the Enlightened Economy Summit (November 12, 2020) in the coming weeks.  All three are great ways to find out more about what is happening in the sector, and to make connections with like-minded entrepreneurs.

There are just a few days before the final deadline of the Investment Readiness Program.  This program was designed by the federal government to help social purpose organizations prepare for making use of social finance tools, such as the investments made by SEF.   To learn more, go to www.communityfoundations.ca/initiatives/the-investment-readiness-fund

So many opportunities, it would seem I won’t get caught up on my reading any time soon.  jcb
